how necessary is to match all beddings to wall colour? i was hoping for a blue/lavender shade in the room. but worry about the impact of bedding colours..

You don't necessarily have to match your bedding and your wall colour unless you are going for a monochromatic scheme. Have you considered Benjamin Moore's Lemon Sorbet? As well, a great way to test colours before you commit, is to buy a tester pot and paint a small portion of the wall. Look at the colour at different times of the day, see how you feel about it. Having said all that, paint is usually the last colour you pick. Much easier to pick your fabrics and then find a paint colour than the other way around.. Commit to a bedspread and other fabrics first. Once you have done that, choose a couple of colours that make you happy. Paint a sample of each and then live with them for a couple of days.

Kalli, I have bought all the three attached bedspreads/quilts. when you say commit to a bedspread, do you mean that i should develop my decor with respect to only one chosen quilt?

I'll start with the furniture arrangement then.. can you please guide which of the following are good furniture arrangements, if i add an almoire and dressing table to the room.. or any other arrangement.. computer table has to go..

I see no connecting theme with your quilts and bedroom except that you must love them if you're going to have four of them. Lemon Sorbet is BM's color of the year, so it will be a good bet and will look nice with all your quilts.

@anumaura....I see from your pictures and floor layouts that you have curtains and an area rug.

The reason I say commit to one bed spread is because it will make for a more cohesive look in the bedroom. With one bedspread, you then choose a curtain fabric that ties in well, then you layer in an area rug, then you add the pillows and finally wall colour. They don't all have to be blue - they can have hints of blue or coordinate with blue.

You can keep all 4 bedspreads and then try to coordinate the area rug, the curtains, pillows and wall colour. However this will make it difficult to shop for items that will look ok with "all" the bedspreads. From a design perspective, this is making it more difficult than it should be. You can absolutely go neutral - but you then might find that it's too bland.

As for furniture layouts...keeping in mind there are no room or furniture dimensions, consider the following:
-bed against the wall with 1 window, bedside table and lamp on each (creates balance)
-didn't understand if computer stays in the room - if it does, consider purchasing a nice console table or writing desk & chair and position them at the entry (where you have seating area in your floor layouts)
-if computer doesn't stay in room, you can create the seating area in that spot and add the armoire as the focal point
-area rug will tie the seating area together
-accessories come in last once the floor layout is complete. This will tell you want you need to add to and what needs to be left alone.

Before you commit to anything, try the layout with what you have right now. Improvide with boxes for a desk/armoire. This will provide you with a good perspective on layout and traffic flow. Looking at some of your floor layouts, your clearances are tight in some areas. Best way is to always reposition physical furniture. As well, painter's tape on the floor works wonders when trying to decide if furniture will fit.

I like your idea of making the armoire a centre point.. Actually the computer table n computer both have to go. There isn't room enough.. Like you mentioned the clearances.. Regarding the armoire being positioned where you suggested, i worry about the light being blocked from the corner window as the door opens into a dark hallway.. (Again i'll let that go, i am complicating it).. You are absolutely right about trying arrangements physically. But current scenario is that i am to move into this room in another country in the near future.. The country i am in right now offers me v affordable items such as fabric, cushions, sheets, curtains.. Hence i intend to buy n take along..

If you have the dimensions plot them out on paper and you can get a really good feel for furniture arrangement before you start moving anything. Safe travels @anumaura. Good luck and enjoy your new space.

Sorry, i forgot to include the dimensions in my uploaded plans.. Thanks for your time & comments. you cleared up my confusion, mind blocks & simplified it for me..
I do have one more query, regarding the dressing table, in such a filled room, what is better a dresser with mirror or a cute small dressing table? I find the latter pretty n interesting n very feminine, it even offers leg space when applying makeup, while the husband argues that the former offers greater storage.. The only storage i will have will be the armoire..

Husband is right....but it all depends on space and size of furniture and what you want the room to do.

Although rooms have to be functional, bedrooms, especially, have to be relaxing and a place you want to go to every night. So, again, without room dimensions or furniture sizes consider the following.....

-bed with one night table and lamp. dressing table and identical lamp on the other side of the bed and keep seating area with armoire OR
-add the dresser (not traditional one with mirror attached on top) where the armoire is going to be. You can still create your seating area with lovely artwork on top of the dresser and some beautiful accessories. With this layout, you should be able to get both the dresser and the dressing table.

Once you get there, measure and then measure again before you bring anything into the room.

Since you have pink as one of the possible wall colors, I would suggest a very pale pink that is almost white. This color would go with the first two sets of linens, but would not go very well with the turquoise. A soft white would be the best suggestion to go with all of the bedding sets.
