Just curious - I have no idea the dimensions of the room but did you consider putting the bed on the accent wall instead? Only asking because it would look fab against that colour too.

We thought about it, but only briefly as both the bedroom door and the master bath door swing into the space so there would be no place for side tables or reading lights unless we hung them above. We thought about it from a Feng Shue perspective as well, but alas it was not to be :)

I think if you spend another $50 on white frames for the pictures and some new pillows in bright blue pattern the room would look complete !!!

I was thinking of a fun fluffy area rug....and maybe some artificial plants. We don't live here full time so I can't do the real ones. They will die....

My dad always said that a hat on the bed was bad luck, so maybe if you hung that on a wall the project would come to fruition! If the accent wall would place the bed so it faces the entry, It would be worth wall lamps for the more restful and secure sleep you'd have. Can't tell what it faces now.

Thanks everyone. So to answer questions...I put the hat there just to stage it. It's usually on my head when I go to the beach, and when not on my head its in my closet. :). So in terms of the room... There's really only one wall wide enough for the bed and side tables. So... Envision a clock. At 12 noon is the full wall you see with the headboard. About 12 ft. At 3 o'clock is a short wall that's 10 feet with a 6.5 foot window in the middle. I added wooden slatted 3" horizontal blinds and white gossamer sheers at each side. At 6 o'clock is the dark blue accent wall that has the dresser on it...centered on the bed. On that wall, in the corner of the widow side, is a door to the bathroom. That cuts 2.5 ft out. In the other corner is the hinge side of the bedroom entrance door. Which brings me to the 9 o'clock wall. In the corner is the bedroom entrance... And then a double wide closet with folding doors. (That brings us full circle to that unpainted corner :).

With the black frames I was trying to deal with the black electronics and the black in the pillows. I LOVE those pillows. The fabric is gorgeous. Wish it wasn't viscose. But it looks fab. I was thinking that I need another pattern but I've never been good at mixing prints....

Except for accent wall not being the one behind the bed, I think you've done well here. I prefer accent walls to be unpierced by windows or doors, and preferably to have the focal point of the room (in this case the bed) on them.

I took the opposite approach and wanted to see the accent wall when we are in bed. :)
