Australia is a big place too, Margaret B. We'd need state by state as well, so not just the Kanuks who'd be jealous!
    We'll get there for sure!

Is there something special about spelling Canucks with a "K"
Valdomer, I'd be there in a heartbeat but Customs and Immigration might have something to say about that.
Margo-you will be back because you like the craziness as much as I do. I know that you waiting for the Hooker just as much as I am.

All you need is a passport--you do not have one?
Oh, I thought you were inviting us to move down there! Ah yes, the dream is to start spending winters somewhere in that area, but we have one last birdie not quite ready to leave the nest!
Had shoulder surgery recently. Easier to reach the k on the keyboard! ;)
    Hahaha!

I would really like to participate in this. I'm a American, Texan, by birth and now living in France. I have loved interior and exterior planning and their fruitions as long as I can remember.

    @junipergirl I don't get it. the "k" thing.
Guess, we'll have our own convention soon huh? I was just glad when I was Philly recently and actually spotted a West Elm store. Just had to buy a vase that was on sale. LOL
  • 12 years ago
I was inviting you to move here but it is ALWAYS a wise idea to visit first! Yes, even to move here to Baja Ca. Mx. you only need a passport.

I'm having problems with not receiving notifications on my discussions on Houzz. Anyone else having this problem? I checked my settings and they're fine. Sent an email to Houzz about it a couple of weeks ago, but didn't receive a reply. It seemed to straighten itself out for awhile, but has started doing it again. Help!
The internet has been having problems & this might be the reason you had or have problems as it just started working reasonably right late yesterday. Also IE & Chrome has had connection problems also, not sure if that was because of internet problem?
karemore- I was not recieving mine awhile back but then noticed they were going to spam. Once I started hitting *this is not spam* they started coming back??
Yes, some of mine went to Spam also but seems to be ok now, at least momentarily.
Thanks for your help. I posted the question on the Canadian chat site, and bschr said her hubby (an electronics engineer) couldn't figure out the problem, and after about 48 hrs. The problem seemed to rectify itself. I would say this is about how long it took last time I had the problem so, yes, it would suggest Internet glitches (or Mercury is in retrograde??).

Margo C, I can't find the "this is not spam" button. I went to my emails on Safari as well, and couldn't find such a prompt. Can you give me more clues? Just so you know, I got this iPad for my birthday this year as a way to get myself into the 21st century - not doing so great, am I?
P.S. If I don't fix this soon, I'm going to go into Houzz withdrawal. Will have to find another hobby - like drinking lol!
So funny Karemore55, I felt like a kid who's cell phone was taken away. I kept going in and out of discussions to see what I may have missed.
It's a good ego check though - the dilemmas get solved, with or without you!
Wondered what happened to my Houzz notifications. Thought it had gone on the blink! @ann dee my k remark was in reference to why did I spell Kanuk with a C to start with. Seems that persons question is now missing from this thread!
Juniper girl, Her comment is still on there. So, this seems to be a common occurrence - not spelling Canuck with a K - I mean not getting notifications for awhile. It must be like those roving blackouts - so much brain power at work solving dilemmas that the system must protect itself from overload lol!
karemore- I don't know if IPad has spam. On my desk top monitor, if I hit the Spam button to look what is there on the bottom of the screen is a button *this is not spam*. Maybe IPads don't have spam??
Thanks Margo for the info. Well, if iPads get spam apparently there's no way to deal with it. Guess I ll just wait it out and hope for a good outcome. I'm doing what bschr said she did - just scrolling through my discussions, trying to stay current!
Oh and, btw, this not getting notifications is somewhat random because I have been getting notifications on this site just fine.
Maybe because you are commenting on here and it is recognizing this now as not spam. Make a few comments on another post and see if it starts to give you updates???
Wow karemore55 that's bizarre....., but now that I think about it the notifications did start coming back randomly. Once they started coming back it happened quickly. By the end of the day I was receiving all notifications.
    Good idea Margo.
Hey guys, if you are getting notifications on some discussions and not others, make sure you haven't selectively turned off notifications for those threads you are missing notifications for. To do that, if you are on the web interface you can go visit the discussion thread. Near the comment box at the bottom you will see a link to turn them on if you have opted out.

I don’t know how many times I have had to apologize for typing SHITE instead of WHITE.
Just checked discussions I contributed to last night, and didn't get notifications on any that further comments. Emily, its not that - I know what you mean about the stop notifications button. I'm getting tired of typing "notifications". There should be a shorthand word for it - like SHITE, I mean WHITE. Yes, I'm not getting white on discussions - that makes sense. Can you see how bored I'm getting, not being able to get in on discussions without feeling like a ghost?

Your email provider is the one that has the Spam or Junk folder not your ipad or any thing you use to look at your webpages. I get notifications to my email address regularly but only in this last week did it play up, which I suspect was a Houzz problem not any thing I had or had not done. If you go to your email provider's home page or even just google your email provider to find out how to see if your email notifications are going to your spam or junk folder, you might find that is where they are going instead. I look at my spam folder in Yahoo email (which is my main email provider) and tick the email which might have ended up there by mistake and you then click it to 'this is not spam' and it then goes to the correct folder for me to look at. Yahoo often makes boo boos with emails i have been getting for years ending up in the spam folder. Anyway, Karemore, I look like a ghost with my lily white skin so I KNOW how it feels to be one! Hee hee.

@Junipergirl - not just Yahoo. I've been using Gmail since 2004 and sometimes my regular email is sent to Spam.

Still, can't complain - it's free and easy to use:) Fewer hassles than with my ISP email and I pay for that one!

Good morning, OnePlan:) Lol, it's time for a new prescription for the specs - my eyes popped open at 0530 but looking across the room to the back lit digital clock I was sure it said 0630. I was wide awake so I got up to catch-up on Houzz!
