I'd add more cabinets, looks like you need a space for your coffee cups, etc.

IMO I would not add cabinets to that wall and when posting pics please take all the clutter away before posting the pic. You need a lot more really good lighting in that space a nice leinear one over the island . one over the sink I guess but really pot lights in the ceiling, under cabinet lighting where there are uppers and I would just add 2 pieces of fun art on either side of the sink.. This is a clients house where I removed all the uppers on that wall and the wall above the peninsula on the right and added a place for his copper pots where I removed the ones on the left . Raise the cabinet to match above the fridge the fridg eneeds space all around it
