I am agonizing over choosing countertop material as I am trying to cut down a 2 tier island to create a single level seating area on my batwing island in this kitchen. I love Taj Mahal quartzite, but the fabrication shop is concerned that the size is going to be difficult, and the designer is steering me toward quartz.

Which brings me to my question.....Has anybody seen Cambria's Mon Taaj quartz irl? If so, I would love to see pictures and hear your thoughts.

The raised 2 tier island that has to GO. The plan is to paint the island, the hood, and refurbish the pantry in this kitchen. Contemplating if the stained cabinets can stay as they are...or if we need to paint everything to get a good consistent finish. New backsplash, new sink, new faucet and new hardware TBD
