I posted my bedroom awhile ago to get some help with paint colors. Now the room is painted and I need to finish it up with accessories, curtains, lamps and most importantly a new headboard/footboard so we can get the new king sized bed off the floor. I will also probably need a bench at the bottom of the bed since the room feels so empty - preferably one with storage for the extra pillows etc.

The walls are painted BM Bennington Gray and the tray ceiling is BM Galveston Gray. We also have a seperate sitting area that needs some love. The sitting room is painted BM Ozark shadows.

We wanted to do an upholstered bed since the furniture set was bought about 10 years ago and it will be too hard to try to match up the woods. What type of fabric and color should I go with for the headboard? I was looking at the PB Raleigh bed but the price is a bit over the budget since we have to buy other items as well. Plus I have heard a lot of complaints about the PB quality lately. We did buy the box springs so we will need a bed set up that will allow us to use them.

I did purchase a bedding set from Bed Bath and Beyond. I will post a pictures of that as well.

Currently we have temporary fabric shades on the windows - paid a whole $3 for them at Ikea. We need some curtains or roman shades. Not sure which route to take. Given the nightstands are higher a Roman shade might be nicer but then we will probably never open them for natural light. I really don't love the top down bottom up shades.

The sitting room needs a lot of love. We just put the TV in there on that stand because we had it. The TV and couch will stay but everything else can go.

Do you like that big chair in the corner? We had that set in our living room in the old house and it ended up in our bedroom this time around. I feel like it is too bulky in there hubby likes it. The headboard in the first picture was from our old queen bed. It will be leaving this weekend.
