A horse jockey fabric. A horse riding toile paisley fabric.
An elaborate paisley pattern forms a border around two scenes that alternate on the fabric. One is of a rider and horse standing in front of a Tuder home which is surrounded by trees. The other is of a man pacing a horse in front of another building with similar surroundings. The effect of this is of looking at a small scene through an opening in a wall, one is a watcher, not a participant in the scene.
The colors are muted dusty tones. Six shades of brown, ranging from dark chocolate to a milky greyed brown are used with olive green, dusty pale apple green, gold, buff yellow, and brick orange with oatmeal as the lightest color. The background is wheat. There has been over-printing so many other colors are seen. The color saturation is excellent, so that even the smallest details carry well. The effect from a distance is of brown, gold, and yellow punctuated by yellow greens and brick on wheat.
This is 58" wide. Measuring from mid-point of the paisley border, across the scene to the mid-point of the paisley border on the other side, is just over 3 1/2" ( 8.89 cm. ) across.
