We used David Weekly homes for a custom build on your own lot. What a mistake that was. We have had problem after problem especially with our floors. We have called and emailed the warranty team but to no avail as we are always told we don’t warranty our flooring. Well when it wasn’t done correctly from the beginning they should be willing to fix the issue. We saved and spent a lot of money for what we thought would be our dream home only to be treated with total disrespect. Do not use David Weekly homes you will most certainly regret it just as we have

a rip off. I bought a home at the Meridiana. a 3bd 2 ba for 369k when it was worth only $320k. You can get it for so much cheaper if you build it from scratch. Never buy one of these homes move in ready. they will rip you off in every way possible. All their homes start at a base price of $310k or less and if you pay more than $320k after upgrades you are getting ripped off.

We were building a home in Buda TX with David Weekley. After 2 bad inspections and other problems we terminated the contract. We have a sign agreement from David Weekley that they would refund half of our money. That has not happened and we are now hiring an attorney. Their build is shoddy at best and they are dishonest. Do not do business with this terrible company.

Multiple issues from the get go but this customer service takes the cake!
David Weekley painted our house with the wrong paint. David Weekley touched up our paint with a different wrong paint.
David Weekley pointed out they had been using the wrong paint.
David Weekley said "use your coupon and fix it yourself.
Great service Ali Christensen

After the closing, the issues started to show up. water softener loop was missing and nobody noticed until I pointed it out, and the fix they made was painful process with so many people coming and going out with all the mud and dust is a disaster after i moved in. Some of the issues were not addressed which we showed at the first walk in till today. Window glasses are all scratched, ac compressor needs replacement , gutters leaking water, garden is messed up because the plumber dug the ground up to lay the pipes and still wasn't fixed. Interestingly nobody takes responsibility for all the troubles i went through, talked to their manager and he sounded like i have to live with it, it is what it is , no compensation offered. Overall my experience with David weekly home is savage and a disaster. I regret my decision. I won't recommend my friends here. As a first time home buyer, I feel it is better off to live in an apartment rather than buying a david weekly home. It's a shame they delivered a home with these many issues for the 719k I paid.

i give David weekley 1 because i can not give them -5 what a big disappointment this has been, our David weekley home we just close on 02/14/23, has been a disaster when you are in the prosses of buying the house they sell them selves as the # 1 in all of San Antonio the sales person and the builder in charge they make it sound like they will be there for you every step of the way, yet when you make requests for changes and they forget to include them they run for the hills ,
the truth is i have never since closing seen worst, we have had so many things go wrong with our home from electrical to ac unit not cooling of the home, they give you this whole pamphlet bragging about their warranty and when you call them the blame game starts,
they will blame you or the vendor they hired to do the job,
i have had a couple of their vendors that they are no longer doing jobs for them because of all the mistakes they make on the building plans i do not and will never recommend David Weekley to any one from this point on,
we are looking to buy another property for us and one for my son and refuse to deal with David Weekley.

Building a home with David Weekley has been one of the worst experiences of my life. From improper expectation setting of the timeline to endless quality failures, much of what we've experienced would astonish you. Skilled trade labor has been performed by amateurs across the process, with little to no oversight or QC from the builder's management. We had to bring in expensive independent inspectors to flag major items Weekley had passed. I'm not exaggerating when I say I don't know that I will ever get over this experience. A sympathetic friend summarized it well—"They sold you a steak and gave you a corndog."
To company leadership: You may or may not be aware that your proud 4.8-star rating is weighted by new homeowners hesitant to share their true feelings as they enter the warranty period (when they still hope you may help rectify issues) and/or those who have been relentlessly campaigned by their DW contacts to give them a positive rating, lest we tank their career and pay forever.

Would not waste your hard earned money on these houses. You would think for the months and months they pushed closing back they could get most of everything right. 5 Months we have lived here we have had the normal small things such as no one actually fixing blue tape issues just removing tape, electrical outlets not flush, gang boxes showing, light fixture glass falling on our sons bed while sleeping, dishwasher coming out of wall, weather stripping on doors tearing, doors not painted, etc. Annoying but expected. Then tack on the foundation washing out. Front steps dropping and have been removed for over a week no timeline on completion. AC not charged till mid-May. Once was charged the AC Refrigerant was leaking out so we had to leave the house when we woke up not being able to breath at 3 in the morning. Then once that was fixed AC still doesnt work because it was never installed correctly or quality checked. Im sure there will be more screw ups but we are off to a solid start.

Poor quality materials, everything is contracted out through what I can only guess are the cheapest vendors they can find as everything is done poorly or incorrectly from tiling and counters to HVAC, landscaping, etc. All my neighbors with DW homes have been complaining of issue after issue. Stay away….better yet, run away. Be wary of positive quotes you see out there. David Weekley employees spend more time explaining the importance of positive reviews and surveys and soliciting them than they do properly building your home.

We bought a new David Weekly house in 2020 in McKinney, TX. Every house on our street is also a DW home, and what I am sharing here is good for all my neighbors too! These houses were expensive to buy but very cheaply built, we all have long lists of things we had to fix on our own, within the few months and 1 or 2 year-mark after the sale. Their warranty is useless, it has A LOT of "cosmetic" things NOT covered and is only good for 1 year, almost everything starts breaking and cracking after 1 year! The plumbing broke, the hard flooring cracked and bulged, then broke (and the flooring is not even, not flat in the house!), we all had to fix our AC systems within 2 years of it being installed by DW, the dishwasher broke and leaked, we had to replace the flushing systems in all the toilets, the ceiling is cracking, the tiles are cracking, all the caulking is cracking everywhere around the cabinets, the concrete in the driveway is cracking and chipping everywhere, the fences are leaning (they didn't dig the post deep enough), they is no drainage between houses and the sides are flooded every time it rains, roof leaked, we had to get the gas fireplace fixed (DW installed it backward!), the front door cracked, the windows are cheap (they fog and don't stop any noise from outside)... what else? A lot of other more minor things. Anyway, it's one thing after another. I understand things get old and break, but maybe after 20 years or more, NOT within a few months or 1 or 2 years after the house was built! VERY disappointed with this company!

Poor Quality, Poorer Workmanship, Poorest Customer Service. Potential buyers should beware. We've spent months trying to get them to correct basic construction mistakes.

We recently purchased a home that was a David Weekley Premier home - it was built 7 years ago. Now, a few months after the purchase, we have realized some of the massive shortcuts they took on the house. They put in the absolute lowest quality water pipes possible that you usually only see in mobile homes. Also, we were having A/C issues and called our A/C guys out to check it. We had 3 A/C companies come out and all three said that both A/C units were undersized. For the one unit that was having the biggest problems, the A/C companies all recommended a unit double the size - 2 ton was what Weekley installed and a 4 ton is what was needed for the square footage. Another issue that has also cropped up is how hot the attic is and it turns out no ridge vents were ever installed and there is not enough ventilation to pass muster. Very sad that they call themselves a "Premier" builder. This was not a cheap home when it was built and not a cheap home when we purchased it. Be careful using this builder as they obviously cut every corner possible. No telling what we haven't found yet!
