Rhonda Eleish and Edie van Breems are the founders of Eleish van Breems, a company whose approach to design stems from a modern application and interpretation of historic Scandinavian interiors and form. They started their company in 1997 with a mission to, wherever possible, introduce a clean, elegant, and fresh approach to interiors, all with a Scandinavian essence. Eleish and van Breems are the authors of three bestselling Scandinavian interior design books, Swedish Interiors (2007, Gibbs Smith Publishing), Swedish Country Interiors (2009, Gibbs Smith Publishing), their third and "Reflections on Swedish Interiors" (2013, Gibbs Smith Publishing). In Fall 2016, Rhonda Eleish and Edie van Breems will be featured in the new Rizzoli book, "Interior Design Master Class" by CJ Delatore. The work of Eleish van Breems has been featured in national and international print publications such as House Beautiful, Elle Decor, Veranda, Glamour, Country Living, Gods & Goddar, Huffington Post and The New York Times and national/international television programming such as Martha Stewart Omni Media, PBS, This Old House, Editor at Large and HGTV-Canada among others. Rhonda Eleish is a founding member of The Leaders of Design Council and a member of the Design Leadership Network.

They were just the absolute worst. I gave them what I was looking for and they decided to throw all my wants out the window and just do whatever they wanted. It looks terrible and honestly ruined my house.

Their Interior Design aesthetic is impeccable...matched by their beautifully curated retail shop. Rhonda is quite exceptional with Nordic design, with mixing antiques & modern pieces, and she is a true pleasure to work with at all levels. Rhonda is professional, prompt, and savvy, and she has integrity, exquisite skill, and grace. photo.JPG Rhonda helped me choose antiques and fabrics for my home in Westport, CT which is a stone, normandy style house built in 1929. I have worked with her at various times over the past 15 years. She has authentic, european fine taste and created found for me a beautiful antique french armoire, with pale green patina, gilded mirrors, farm table, etc as well as beautiful, natural linen fabrics to compliment the antiques for a simple but elegant look that is perfect for the house. She is extremely knowledgeable of particularly Swedish, Scandinavian and French antiques. He honest and easy going demeanor makes her a pleasure to work with and seek advice from. Her firm, Eleish VanBreems also creates reproduction pieces that are beautifully made; she designed a custom chest of drawers for my daughter's bedroom with a beautiful hand-rubbed patina in a teal blue matching the blue in the bed fabrics. I highly recommend Rhonda and her partner, Edie; they are very unique in their approach and execution of the simple, clean Swedish antique look./Users/anitaparry/Desktop/photo.JPG

Rhonda and Edie have a cozily elegant esthetic and we loved visiting their shop on Main Street in Woodbury. When we built a small cabin in the hills of Litchfield County as a Scandinavian stuga, we furnished it with Swedish country pieces purchased from them. We love our stuga, and remember Edie and Rhonda fondly, especially when reading through their handsomely photographed books. Edward and Carolyn Wagner
