MC Construction

I really don’t like to leave bad reviews but if I can save even one person from what I experienced with this company it will be worth it. For the most part the actual work done was good (with a few notable exceptions) which is why I am giving two stars. The problem is that while Ryan can do decent work, in my experience, he was seemingly incapable of two other major aspects of running a construction business - quoting and time management. Ryan mislead me about cost all through the project and then presented me with an extra invoice 3 months after completion of the job. He claimed he had to spend 2 full days reviewing video of himself doing the job in order to bill it. This final additional bill was so ridiculous it came with instant promises to work with me to reduce it. Then each time I would try to open discussions about a final price he would have a meltdown. My tiny ensuite reno ended up costing me $8,000 more than it’s worth and double what other contractors quoted. If for you cost and time is no object, then you should be ok. Unfortunately that was not the case for me and choosing this company turned out to be an extremely costly mistake.

I can't say enough good things about my experience with MC Construction. In particular, Ryan was very professional, careful and detail-oriented on our condo renovation. His pricing was very fair and the quality of his workmanship was awesome. He dealt with unexpected issues without concern, he was extremely courteous of our neighbours and he did his best to meet our desired compressed timelines. I moved away from the Lower Mainland and losing access to MC Construction was tragic! I have a number of rooms in my new house that I would love to have Ryan upgrade.

Ryan completed our bathroom renovation in our Vancouver condo in 2013. He was very professional, easy to work with, and had a genuine commitment to quality workmanship. I would highly recommend MC Construction.
