We moved into a house that had a severely neglected lawn that was basically all weeds. After battling it for a year myself, I realized that I needed to call in a professional. Not only was Putnam Landscaping's quote the best of three I solicited, but the owner Grant also spent a lot of time talking me through the plan, which included killing the entire lawn, digging up the weeds, aerating, and re-seeding. Needless to say, this was a scary process to sign on to. The entire Putnam crew was incredibly professional, skilled and detailed. After the killing part, the lawn looked pretty terrible for a while (leading to some serious eyebrows from the wife). But then the grass started growing and a month later we have a beautiful, full, healthy lawn. I really can't recommend these guys enough. Great people, great prices, and great process.

I hired Putnam's Landscaping to install plants and supply and install 33 yards of screened topsoil to grow grass for a new lawn. I paid Putnam's the agreed to amount believing they delivered the grade of topsoil I ordered. When the grass didn’t grow correctly, I realized that the topsoil Putnam's supplied was not screened and contained a tremendous amount of rocks. I literally removed 79 large buckets of rocks which was back breaking labor and knew I was nowhere near being finished. I emailed Grant at Putnam's and made him aware of the problem and requested that he correct the issues. His negative response was peppered with threats. My expectations of this company being one that is honest, stands by its products and values its customers were quickly diminished. Instead, I received aggressive and unprofessional behavior with unfounded threats directly from Grant. If you are considering doing business with Putnam's Landscaping think twice and find a more reputable landscaping company that stands by its products and values its customers.

We have been working with Grant and his team for over a year. He redesigned flower beds, using good plants that we had and planting new ones. We also had them install a sprinkler system. Grant was thorough, professional, and responsive. Because of this good experience, we decided to use his team for ongoing maintenance of the landscaping and lawn. We hired Putnams Landscaping to refresh our backyard. We needed to remove old overgrown trees, plant new trees, and re-seed the yard. Grant and his team were great throughout the entire process. We met with Grant a few times prior to moving forward with the project to make sure we were getting the right tree to suit our need. We ended up planting 33 new arborvitaes. Grants team showed up on time, worked until the project was done, and were courtesy to any questions we had throughout the process. We ran into a small issue with our sprinkler system (outside the scope of work) and his team made the necessary repairs to keep the project moving on schedule. I was extremely pleased with Grant Putnam and Putnam Landscaping. I met Grant about 9 years ago. My wife saw some work he did in our neighborhood. We called and Grant came by and showed us an extensive portfolio of his work. He immediately hired him and were happy with the proposal he came up with. He is great to work with. He listens carefully to what you want and explains how to make things even better. I remember an instance when he did not like the curvature of our front walk. It was halfway installed. He had his guys rip it out and do it over again at no extra cost to us. Grant is also a great communicator. If he is even running a few minutes late he will call and let you know.
