Sitka Log Homes created a highly rustic timber frame for one of our clients lakeside homes in British Columbia. From the start, Sitka Log Homes made it easy for us as design professionals because they clearly understood the design intent, which in this case was to make new douglas fir timbers look like they were reclaimed and aged. They provided all the necessary samples to ensure clarity of communication, which made it easy for our client to get a sense of how the finished product would look, well in advance of when the order needed to be placed. This gave our client peace of mind. They instinctively understood what was required and had the vision and skill to heavily texture the timbers by hand to create an uneven, weathered look, which gives the impression they are very old.
