Hi all! my kitchen and living area look amazing thanks to the Houzz community so I thought I would ask about the master bedroom. I like many of the items but again I lack cohesiveness. any suggestions? I need to keep the dog bed; maybe the stairs can change but they need to be functional. I love it rug and the window treatments/bench. I have some art and I'm not sure how to arrange it.

I'm also having a problem with the bed. the current box spring is 9 in and it puts the mattress a little higher then the nightstands. I can use a 4in box spring and only one inch of the box spring will be above the frame. the ideal is a 3 inch Bunkie board which would put the mattress flush with the frame for a more modern bedding, platform look since the bed is a platform bed. will this put my night stands too high?

I want welcoming bedding that is machine washable and not too expensive so I can replace it in a year or two. our dogs sleep with us and there is substantial wear.
