20 year Old Master Bathroom - Before/After

2 month project to update a 20 year old master bathroom. Work was done by a contractor (Baker Group Remodeling). Removed the large jacuzzi tub, expanded shower, added freestanding soaker tub, replaced cabinets and lighting.

Tile: MSI Eden Statuary 32" Tiles

Wall Color: Benjamin Moore Eternity

Cabinet Color: Sherwin Williams Peppercorn

Chandelier: Elegant Lighting - Nordic (Wayfair Rutha 6)

Sconces: Crystorama Trenton (Wayfair Northampton 1)

Faucets: Delta Dorval Collection

Cabinet Hardware: GlideRite Solid Knurled Bar Pull

I received a lot of advice from Houzz Design Dilemmas to help finalize the design and material Selections.

Beautiful!!! I particularly like how you did the vanity area. The tower for storage and the lights on the sides of the mirrors looks fantastic. Also love the big glamorous crystal chandelier. The black accents on the shower and the tub are a good balance and they catch the eye. Good job!

Beautiful transformation! Those built-in tubs take up way too much space - the freestanding tub looks so much better. I also agree about removing the makeup area on vanity. I am renovating my master bathroom and happily removed my makeup area (I don’t wear much makeup - but even if I did, I highly doubt that I would have used a sit down area). My sister finally decided to leave a toxic marriage - and her new master bathroom is smaller = no longer has a makeup area - and she actually misses her old one (but still thinks it’s been a great trade off for also losing a verbally abusive alcoholic husband!) She’s the only person that I’ve personally known who actually used the makeup area in a master bathroom.
