No way will anyone in a natural disaster area get the full use out of a glass roof. Damages and replacements cost will not even be covered by your insurance without a 10x increase.

I'm a big believer that this is the way of the future, but we're not at a point where much of society thinks so. Most home improvements do not have a return on investment anywhere near 100%, and this definitely falls in that category. I'd love to have a Tesla roof on my house, but I'm not ready to make the investment and I doubt that many people are or know how to value that. Save yourself the money and trouble.

I too would love a Tesla roof but they still are having issues and I honestly cannot imagine anyone willing to pay even 50K extra for that roof . I gues I am saying no also.

On a 2000 sq ft house in a development? Maybe selling in 2 years? Loser.

After you move, do it for yourself if you're going to be in that house 20 years, but no need to do it for someone else.

We put solar panels on our new build house and knew that it would not give us even an additional dime if we went to sell. We did it for ourselves. If you put a Tesla roof on, you may sell your home faster, but it won't go for even a dollar more than other homes in the development.

I would do it if I was planning on living there for the next 5-10 years, because I think it's the way to go with respect to energy use and storage, but I would not do it expecting to get the money back by way of increased value on the house. it would have increased value to me, but not enough people share that viewpoint.
