NJ stormwater regulation questions

I'm in the process of buying a lot in NJ, and I'm getting some conflicting information regarding what would trigger a major stormwater project. The lot is several acres and has had much more than an acre of trees taken down since 2004. I can't seem get a straight answer of whether this would count as disturbance for the sake of stormwater regulations or not.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Also, in terms of cost if it DID require a major stormwater system, does anyone have a ballpark? It would be a 6000 sq ft home.

Ask the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

You just described a major lot disturbance. Costs are going to depend on what is proposed to mitigate that. You should be working with an environmental engineer. A 6000 square foot home, with all the driveways and garages is also a heck of a lot of impervious surface to calculate into all of that. You're already in a multi multi million category, so a couple more shouldn't scare you off too much.
