Howard Restor-a-finish will blend out the scratches and lighter worn edges. You just apply it with a cloth.

The restore-a-finish helped on the seats. In the right color, would this help on the painted legs and spindles? There are places where the paint is worn off down to natural wood. My other thought was to apply cerusing wax or a rub on stain. I‘m just trying to blend the bare areas and scratches. Thank you again

Hm, I don’t think you can use the restor a finish on painted areas. I think all you can do to improve the legs is to sand and repaint. The cerusing wax will probably make it look sloppier. If you don’t want to sand, you could try chalky paint on the legs.
