Toilet and “Tile or not to Tile”?

I have a toilet going into somewhat of a tight space, in between a pony wall and full wall that holds a pocket door. Originally the plan was to run tile along the left pony wall, and (at same height as pony) behind the toilet and on the right wall. Then the plumber did not center the toilet flange, its 2” off and thats having me question the original plan. So I‘d like to hear people’s opinions on these options;

A: Tile all 3 walls as originally planned. Makes space the tightest at 30.5” wide and right wall is 14.25” to center of toilet.

B: Tile only behind toilet. This makes a slightly larger 32” wide toilet space. Right wall to center of toilet is 15.25”

C: Tile along only two walls (pony wall and behind toilet). Toilet center to right wall is 15.25“.

D. No tile around toilet. My only concern is that this option leaves a larger gap between back of toilet and wall, and I‘m not sure if that matters or not.

This is a very small basement bathroom so every inch matters. Thanks for your input!

I'd tile all sides of the toilet for easy cleaning, especially if it is tight.

If no tile results in a space of 15.25 inches, and tile results in a space of 14.25 inches, that means your tile is almost 1 inch thick. Why use such a massively thick tile? Just use thinner tile and tile all of the walls.

catbuilder... tile is 3/8" plus due to the large size of the tile, mastic will be thicker too, approx 3/8" as well, so that's 3/4". If we don't do tile, we can use slightly thinner drywall buying another 1/4" of space, thus the one inch difference of a tiled wall versus no tile.

I think I would not tile the sides . 30 inches between two walls feels really tight.

Make sure your toilet paper holder does not make the space feel even tighter. I recessed my toilet paper holder to get more room, but you could also locate it further back on the side wall.

Can you decrease shower length by a couple of inches?

Tile all the way around. Nothing's easier to clean than tile, and this is a spot where you're going to have sprinkles, overflows, etc.
