I have seen Disney Construction homes for many years. As a new home owner I knew who I wanted to construct my home. Their quality is superior, service is responsive and they made the building experience a positive process. The fact that each home is custom, you need to work with a builder that is flexible. From designing the full kitchen, down to the details of selecting our ceiling fans we always had the resources we needed. Mark Disney led the construction of our home. Every detail mattered to him, and he always made himself available to answer questions and even met with us at our home multiple times during construction to update us on its progress. We can't say enough about the great experience we had with Disney Construction. They did everything to help our visions come to life and we are so satisifed with the end product. Review Update: We have been in our Disney Custom home for 20 months now. We love our home, and our experience with Disney started well. There were a handful of issues reported during our warranty period that they never took care of, but we were confident they would. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience. Disney has become entirely unresponsive to our inquiries about the items while passing our home several times a week as they continue to build in our community. Thankfully, most of the concerns are minor. Our master bathroom sinks, for example, were reported within the first 90 days, and they still don't hold water. Damage to our front door occurred during construction. We reported it at the final walk-thru and several times again during the one-year warranty period. The initial repair, which was to be corrected, looks like someone stuck a wad of gum in it and painted it with a brown magic marker. Not at all the attention to detail, Disney Custom Homes has built their reputation on. Of primary concern, however, is the fact that our engineered hardwood floors are failing. We began to notice some creaking within a few months of closing. By the time we had lived in our home for nine months, the noise was becoming concerning enough to mention. Finally, after six more months and several named possible causes; rain, expansion and contraction, and wide floorboards not having fewer connection points, the flooring subcontractor came out to inspect and subsequently filed a claim with the manufacturer. The manufacturer promptly denied the claim, pointing to the manner of installation as an exclusion in the manufacturer's warranty. We also hired an independent flooring inspector who concluded the same - the method of installation violated the manufacturer's recommendations and voided a portion of our warranty. It has been more than a month since we shared the inspection results with Disney. There has been no acknowledgment and no acceptance of responsibility for our failing floors. At present, Disney Construction Company has left us with the feeling of being discarded, devalued and ignored. While this is hugely disappointing, we remain hopeful and look forward to returning with a more positive update.
