Will you be getting colored concrete? Wider steps might be nice, doesn't look like you can stand on the steps while someone opens the door. Check out the houzz ideabooks for inspiration.

I would have them pour a small porch and then bring the steps out. Add in a little overhang and possibly posts like in the picture below. Depending on what your budget is, I would run it all the way across to the right side of the house there underneath the bigger window to allow for seating. However, that would cause for more roofing construction. Good luck! :)
