This home's bridge was illuminated from a lensed linear in-floor light strip to keep the ceiling clean. From the exterior, warm glows reflect off the wood ceiling from an invisible source. When crossing the bridge the singular linear source creates an unexpected connection between the master wing and the main house.

Creating access to a new outdoor balcony, architect Mary Cerrone replaced the window with a full-pane glass door. The challenge of a narrow thoroughfare was overcome by implementing a sliding screen, which when opened slides into a pocket behind the refrigerator.
By placing a focal point of bright color in the doorway, the room gains a feeling of greater depth, while the dying process of the wood mirrors that of the cabinetry.

The Lighting in this great room is layered in many different ways. From the trimless square accent lights in the wood above the dining table, to the uplights and cable lights integrated into the trusses the architectural lighting becomes one with the architecture. Decorative fixtures by the interior designer bring this over-scaled great room down to a human scale.

The built-in bookcases in this living room help provide much needed storage in a small home while helping to bounce light into the room from the windows. At night the books are illuminated by the monopoint track fixtures.

Elegant home theater designed to compliment the English pub decor in the rest of the basement. This project won a National award from NARI. Designed & fabricated in the In-House Cabinet shop of Media Rooms Inc.
Our goal was to not have any audio video components visible in the room. In addition to the audio and video system, we designed and fabricated (in-house) all of the interior elements including: acoustical wall panels, custom columns, wood millwork, proscenium (around the video screen) and custom counter in the rear of the theater room. We also installed a tin ceiling and supplied the carpet and chairs.
We located the audio video components in an in-wall closet and fabricated an acoustical panel door to hide the components from view. The left and right front speakers were built into the decorative columns behind the acoustically transparent fabric. The center channel and subwoofers were built into the proscenium directly behind and below the screen. The side speakers are placed in one of the side decorative columns and the rear speakers were placed in the ceiling. Decorative acoustic panels were placed throughout the room to match the aesthetic and add absorption. We installed wood trim around the panels to add to the elegance of the room.

This beautiful home theater gives up to twelve people a home cinema experience they will never forget. All speakers are hidden behind the front screen wall and behind acoustically transparent fabric on the side and rear walls. Meridian electronics supply amazing sound and the large, immersive picture is sure to draw you in. Four subwoofers provide earth-shaking bass performance and give even seat-to-seat bass performance, something most home theaters sorely lack. Control of audio/video, lighting, the fiberoptic ceiling, climate, and motorized proscenium drapes are with Crestron home automation controls. Design and installation by DSI Entertainment Systems.

We had an unfinished basement in our house that we wanted to finish to have some extra family space. I did the design work myself and the project took about 6 months. The space includes a main area for entertaining, a dedicated home theater and a couple of unfinished storage/utility areas.
The lighted recessed areas in the pool table area are actually there to serve a purpose. In finishing the walls there would not have been enough room to have full motion of a pool cue. So I recessed these areas so we did not have to use a "short stick" in any area while playing.
The square on the left of the TV is an LG "Art Cool" heating and A/C Unit. We had a cabinet built on the right to match and added the kids finger painting. This is where we house all of our remotes. We also added LED lighting into the baseboard to wash the walls in any color to suit our mood.
We added LED lighting under the bar since I had some extra. Since the bar was built right under the HVAC ducting, there was limited space for lighting so we used a track light to maximize.
